Good day for me. I got to start using the elliptical and started lateral movements. Finally done with the boring tedious stuff.

A good one this morning. Chest and biceps supersets. 3 Warmup sets and three working sets. Went heavier today since I think I've avoided the DOMS.

Bilateral wide grip chest press/z bar curls
Incline chest press on Smith machine/hammer curl bar
Cable fly/incline dumbbell concentration curls

Still throwing in the stuff I learned at PT for my hip at the end. Hopefully I won't need to do that much longer and I can get back to my usual routine. I miss getting tore up in the gym.

Shoulders and legs tomorrow.

Good Lord am I sore from getting on the elliptical and doing walking lunges. I stopped hitting it hard about 1.5-2 weeks before the knee surgery. Man it doesnt take long to lose it. I should get past the soreness sometime next week I suppose. Today was the best day back in the gym in a long time.

Getting back to a near normal routine for me. 10 minute warm up on the elliptical, 7 minutes of stretching my legs, then back exercises, 27.5 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and then 12 minutes of stretching my legs in the dry sauna. The cardio was the most time Ive been able to go since the surgery. Sunday is going to be mostly if not all cardio so Im hoping to stretch that out past 30 minutes if not 40.

I have not checked in but have stayed after it. Went and got displacement test and happy with results. Was 20% bf in May and weighed 249#. weight only down to 244# and came in at 16.4%. Think I'm going to just try to keep everything there as I'm not young anymore and not sure how healthy dropping below that is for a 50 year old frame.

Well done sir....I wish I could post numbers like that. I can get my BF in that range but not even close to that kind of mass.

warmup, stretching, quite a few leg exercises, biceps and triceps, then more stretching. Tomorrow is as much cardio as my knee can tolerate. Looking forward to seeing how long I can go since I will not have worked my legs prior.

Got on the scales today and gained 9 pounds from last week. No diet change. What causes that? I started running last week was the only change I made.

I would suspect it's water/fluid intake has increased since you started running.

Chest and biceps today. 3 warmup sets and three working sets. Supersets with weight on the heavier side of moderate for 10-12 reps.

Seated wide grip press/barbell curl
Incline chest press/preacher curl
Incline chest fly/standing dumbbell curl
Pushups/incline dumbbell curl

There's always that ONE guy in the gym. Camped out doing deadlifts, overweight, dropping the bar from waist height. Cracks me up to watch him. Wearing tights, knee wraps, hood rat shoes and acts like Mark "The Bird" Fidrich used to do on the mound for the Rangers. He's got a bottle of something he takes a big whiff of and throws on the gym floor before busting loose with another set.

He's got everyone's attention.

P 90 this morning and run a mile this evening. Run my mile in 11 min 50 sec. May not seem impressive but I'm thrilled being I weighed 309 pounds a few months ago. I bet I'm under 10 minutes in 4 weeks.

Shoulder and legs today. Can't do much with legs except extensions and curls, but at least I did a little. 4X10

Smith machine shoulder press
Leg extensions
Seated lateral raise
Prone leg curl
Incline reverse fly

I think tomorrow I'll start back incorporating some cardio. Probably be an elliptical day and maybe some pool work for the hip along with abs.

Been nursing elbow pain in both arms. Really sucks.

Went yesterday and hit it pretty good despite the pain.

BB bench
Preacher curls
hammer curls
triceps machine inner/outer
abs/leg lifts
pec flyes machine
rowing machine 2000m
stair stepper 35 minutes

Start elk hunting saturday afternoon. Hoepfully the cardio pays off a little bit.

Good luck on the hunt. Have you tried any elbow sleeves while working out? I did on a recommendation from this thread and they helped a ton. My left elbow isnt 100% but the pain is definitely gone. Part of my problem was flexing my wrist under load during certain exercises. Doc said to keep my wrists rigid when doing them. That has helped as well.

Yall do all this fancy stuff. I feel bad getting on here posting that I did my p 90 today. Also ran a mile and knocked a minute and six seconds off my time from Monday. Monday was 11:51 today was 10:45. Looks like I'll be under that 10 minute goal sooner than later. Add the 5 miles I walked at work today and another mile after running this evening. My **** is dragging!

2.5 hrs in the gym today from start to finish. Cardio, stretching, shoulders, traps, abs, more cardio and then more stretching. I was whipped. The off day and a solid 8 hrs of sleep had me fired up today.

I workout at home also. I've done several of the beach body plans. P90X and Body Beast have been my favorites. I don't follow any of the nutrition plans though.

We don't follow the meal plan either. We just eat fresh clean meals 90%of the time. No processed food, sugar or bread. All the fresh meat veggies, nuts, and fruit we want and about 6 times a day. Once a week we'll go eat a cheeseburger and ice cream. Seems to be working well. As far as 90 x, I think I'll try it after this round of p 90. Its easy enough for my out of shape self.

I wasn't over weight, but definitely out of shape in 2012. I decided to start working out and started with Insanity. It was a killer, but the main thing that motivated me was that my wife said I wouldn't finish it. By the time I finished, I was hooked on exercising. Did another 2 rounds of Insanity before starting P90X. Did 2 (the due to injury) rounds of it. When I started back, I ordered Body Beast. I've done it probably 5 times all together. Ordered Hammer and Chisel after my first 3 rounds of Body Beast (didn't care for it, other than watching Autumn Calabreze). Did it once then ordered Insanity Max 30. I liked it the least. Way too intense for me.

11 days since my last post....

Wish I could say I was in the gym every day.... 3 days in Colorado which I was lucky enough to get sick and I missed about 7-8 days of working out. Ran a few miles Wed, Thur, Fri which wasn’t awful. Chest and tris yesterday and back and bi’s today. Very weak since I have missed so many days it was embarrassing. Shoulders and legs tomorrow. Will take a few more workouts to get back into it.

400 challenge today. I wasn't going for a personal record, since my toe is still not 100%. Looked down at the clock as I was marking my 70 rep tally mark. I was making good time, so I kicked it up a notch. Still beat my best time by 24 seconds. 10:13

Got in my morning workout but holding off on the running. Surgery knee started swelling and hurting.

Made it in Monday and Tuesday. Rest day today.

Monday chest day. Seated wide grip bench press, incline bench press, pushups, cable crossovers.

Tuesday back and legs. T-bar rows, low rows, ring pullups, seated leg extensions, prone leg curl and did my hip therapy.

Tomorrow will be a shoulder day.
