Thanks! I was surprised how much more light makes it to the ceiling versus with the globes previously. It’s very obvious when comparing the before and after photos.

You can take a dremel and cut the excess off. Then reinstall the lights

There are also flush mount LED fixtures on the market that are 7/8" thick and wouldn't require any s/r repairs.
