Games people don't play......

When my Dad and his dad were still alive, moon, 42, straight dominoes every evening after supper at the deer lease. Once Grandpa was gone my Dad didn't want to play much anymore. I sure do miss them and the games though.

We play washers and horseshoes, poker and dominoes at my place north of Edna and if it's only my son and I or if my wife is along we play dominoes a lot.

My wife loves Yahtzee as does my son and I so that gets played as well.

Canasta when we were kids, haven't played it in probably 30 years now.

My grandparents and parents played that once a month or so for many years. They almost always played partners and on the odd occasion when they were a player short, at about 10 years old I was allowed to play with the big people. I taught it to a friend in high school and his entire family got into it, playing weekly for a couple of years.

... and I play backgammon and Yahtzee now... on an app.

And Yahtzee is under the game Dice with Buddies but it is otherwise identical.

Growing up my family played dominoes, spades, or 5 card stud all the time at deer camp. We also played a board game called backgammon. I don't know anyone who plays backgammon anymore. I don't even remember how to play. Does anyone still play backgammon? What are other board or card games you played in the past that you don't now?

Risk?
Chess? I've been playing online chess for about a year. The world champions are rated at 1300 or 1600? Me I've been stuck between 550-650 for 3 months now.
Checkers?
Backgammon was a fun and very portable game but as you mention nobody plays any more.

Games people don't play......

Euchre is fun also. We still play it a few times a year. In Wisconsin, they play a card game called Sheepshead... I played it a lot as a kid, but no one knows it anywhere else
