Looking for something for an 8yo. Targets for the next year or so followed by hunting through the teen years. Budget is maybe $400 but not set. What do I want?

My daughter has been shooting a Hoyt Klash since Christmas and has really improved her scores (but that's likely due to practice and growth). I just bought her an Elite Ember, due primarily to the fact that it has a teal riser and I got it for a good price, but I do think it's a good bow, too. Consequently, her Hoyt will most likely be for sale soon. The Hoyt Klash should be in your price range. Mission (by Mathews) has some good options as well. Also, I recently set up a used PSE Fever for a friend's kid and I was pretty impressed. All of these that I mentioned are super adjustable and easy to adjust.Comment

My son started with a Diamond Razors Edge at that age. I bought the model with the 15-30# Limbs. I then bought the 30-60# limbs and switched it out as he grew. Hes 17 now and the bow is maxxed out at 29" and 60# and he still shoots it. He will get a new bow for graduation and this one will get passed down to his sisterComment

My wife shoots the Diamond Razors Edge. My son also shot one when he was younger. Love those bows for the price.
