WHEN you drop your lenses in a swimming pool....

It sucks, it sucks really bad especially when it was an absolutely preventable mistake..

First, you panic.. And I mean PANIC.. Two lenses =$2300

Second, you google what to do.. You find nothing but info on putting them in bags of rice for a week..

Third, you call every camera shop you know, they tell you throw them away..

Fourth, you call the manufacturer and they tell you to throw them away..

Fifth, you put them in bags of rice for a week... Water will still be in the lenses..

Sixth, your granddad passes away and in the restless nights you figure, "What the hell, its already ruined" and you start taking the lenses apart...

Seventh, you start pulling stuff apart, take lots of pictures, put it all back together, dry...

    Eighth, You test it out..

    Nineth, YOUR CRAP WORKS PERFECT...

Tenth, you never believe ANYONE EVER AGAIN about ANYTHING...lol

If you can act quickly, water does not have to ruin everything. Way to go and congratulations on the stellar luck.

Now, call your insurance agent about your schedule jewelry/personal articles policy you want to get started and get all your stuff insured. I have about $15,000 worth of gear on my policy and pay a little over $200 a year for the coverage. No deductible. I'm awaiting the payment of my claim on the lens I inadvertently sent bouncing into Bryce Canyon!
