That video makes them look very stable, orb they are experts that make it look that way. I was basing it off a 8 foot Jon boat I had. Sure looks like fun! !

48 at the bottom should be pretty stable. Our center of gravity will be pretty low also.

I've paddled my kayak better than 2000 miles so stability doesn't really worry me too much on these boats. I believe they will be fine.

Have $400 in the hull, 425 in a prop and hub, 700 in a motor. Then small odds and ends.

Even better because I have access to a lot of scrap wood. Now you've really tempted me! $400 for prop and like another $150 for aluminum to protect the prop. Then I'm golden....

When Ron gets back we'll get after it hard. His prop came in so we should have everything to finish his boat.

Do you need any certain gases? Just grind the galvanized coat away and weld?

DO NOT breathe the fumes that come off of galvanized welding...they will make you sick as hell.

And it'll splatter A LOT.

I welded mine up outside in a breeze while wearing a quality respirator. I migged it on low head and made quick short welds. It splattered but not terribly bad.

Aint none. Or neutral.

Definitely learning curve to operating an airboat. More than once seen rookie drivers fill one with water. Luckily water was much over 20" or so.

Yes sir! Gotta keep your foot in it.

Dumping the rudders and doing a 180 is the closest thing to breaks you have.

Ronnie is back in town. We should get the motor stand built tomorrow evening and hopefully get the motor installed. I wanted to work on it while he was gone but this his boat. Mine should be started in a couple of weeks.

How much clearance above the top of the transom do you want to have for the prop? As low as possible, or is there a guideline? Also, how do you get clearance for the exhaust?

Gonna build the exhaust. We'll have an inch or so of clearance to the transom. Trying to keep everything as low as possible for stability
