Another crazy hog skull

I finished degreasing and whitening a hog skull from a pig I shot in Sept. I want to mount it with the arrow I shot- front shot through the jaw which went into the opposite shoulder.



Then I looked at it for a couple days and said, "Naaaa, needs to be something crazy like the one I did for my son's graduation present and posted here in 2010.

Here's a clue- I just finished gold gilding the 2 cutters. More pictures later as I finish it up.

Work in progress. Skull's painted, I had to see the gilded tusks with the hammered black paint. I need to decide if I'll gild the upper cutters, probably yes.

I had my 1 pin set at 20 yards, and ranged a bush at 20. The pig came to that spot and I had my pin on his chest/throat waiting at full draw for him to turn. He either saw or smelled me and his eyes turned white like he was ready to turn and run. That's when I released. It's hard to tell if I shot high/right or he twisted into the arrow.

The shot entered his right jaw and cut down his throat, the arrow lodged in the opposite shoulder when I skinned him. He sprayed blood as he turned to run and went snout 30 yards before collapsing.

Nota textbook shot, but it worked.
