Just now headed back from a great week in Colorado. Had a 3rd rifle season tag in a unit north of Kremmling. We arrived the day before season started and woke up to a little snow.
Opening morning was a lot more snow. Saw a bunch of deer but mostly does.
Next couple days were pretty much the same but the ol lady got it done Tuesday evening after a long stalk. Buddy had an elk tag and also got it done that afternoon. This was a very long night lol.
Next couple days were pretty uneventful and we were seeing more elk than deer so I decided to go to town and buy an elk tag. Turned out to be a good idea I killed one later that same evening. Everyone couldn’t believe how lucky I was :-)
Gutted him that night and packed him with snow and drug him out the next morning. He was already frozen- more on that later lol. The next several days were much of the same with many does and small bucks. By Sunday morning- the end of the season- my expectations were way down but I lucked out and connected on a tasty young 4x4.
All in all had a great trip but am looking forward to warmer temps back home. Temps never got over 20 the rest of the week. Woke up to -6 this morning!! The elk was still frozen so we ended up having to saw him in half and will process him when we get home.
Few more pics and thanks for tagging along.
