    Traditional fsc for week 47

    Happy Thanksgiving folks.
This week we'll do a turkey shoot. You'll need to print one of these out or do a pretty close drawing size wise to make it work. Looking for kill shots. Center of neck or brain pan. Not sure yet how we will trade it but generally closest to center of head. However a center spine shot would drop one too. You can shoot one first shot per day. Use the same target as it's a lot of ink to print and a pita to draw.
Generally a have fun shot on a target you might get to see in the stand. 12 yards for the growed folks and 5 for the young uns.
Good shooting, have fun and may God bless you this Thanksgiving.

Day one shot from sitting position. 4" low as I aimed for the eye. Held too long. Definitely a kill shot center neck.

Good call, and good shot Mr. Gary.

I edited the image some to make it use less ink to print, and I put a white speck in the middle of the eye to measure to.

Bad hits like that is why I use broadheads like this for turkey.

They'll turn a bad head/neck hit into a dead turkey every time.

Closer than mine (which I didn't actually measure just guesstimated) but probably just a close shave.
I agree. Would not shoot a turk with a small game head or field point.

Your shot would have been a kill regardless of the point used.

I only hunt/shoot turkey in the spring season, and I designed/built these broadheads specifically to be used for neck/head shots, but they will work just as well on a body shot if that's all I got.

In real life those heads are always moving. We used to head shoot the 3D turkey at the range with compounds. It was an easy shot even at 30 yards. Not so much with a trad bow.

Good shots! Hopefully, I'll get back to try this by the end of week.

Even though my measurement is a bit longer, I am much MUCH happier with the shot placement.
