I did some distress doe calls this morning and the reaction of the deer just blew me away. They came running at us. Crazy.

Had a good evening hunt. Saw 60 deer with maybe 15 bucks. Had a decent buck 4x3 that we passed on. Going back to the same place in the morning. Cell service has been sketchy so I will update when I can.

          Thanks for following.

Had a decent buck dogging some does and moved into position but by the time I glassed the buck he had jumped a fence amd moved off.

Going back there in the morning.

These bucks have been pressured pretty heavily with all the seasons.

They move into the sage in the evening spend all night there. Then in the early morning they head back up to bed in the mountains. We try to catch them moving back and forth. They are chasing does right now too but that is sporadic.

Good luck. Are you very close to that Kremmling fire that was burning in September? I hunted west of steamboat for archery elk. That area was bone dry and hot. Glad to see they are getting some moisture. All the lakes going up there were really low. Really pretty country.

Good snow on it's way tonight to S Wyoming and your area of Colorado. Should get things pretty interesting for you. Rut should get more obvious after the snow. Weather breaks on Sunday, good luck!

Not a big one but decent for what we have seen so far. He was with a group of does but not really chasing. 242 yd shot and gutted him on the mountain. Then drug him downhill (thank goodness) about 200 yds.

Popping a half frozen XX to celebrate.

The two other hunters will get to hunt the alfalfa tomorrow so hopefully they will get a big one.
