Default Gasoline shortage

In north DFW:

Just got off work at 9 pm & heading home I noticed every gas station has 20-30 cars lined up for gas. I topped off for $2.70/g

Anyone else seeing this?

I left willow park at 630 and a ton of cars at brookshires for 2.39/gal. I then drove through Azle and tons of cars at the stations at 2.39/gal. Then drove to Springtown and gas was 2.29/ gal. The lady said they only had 3000gal left and a lot of stations didn't have any gas. There were people at every pump at 930 which is unheard of. She couldn't tell me why everyone was running out of gas and when the trucks were coming back through.

Went to fill up tonight. Valero at 380 and Lake Forrest had a line out of the parking lot. Went down the road to the Race Trac and it was busy but I pulled right up to a pump. Diesel for $2.39. Full tank is enough to get me to the lease and back.

ExxonMobil in Houston supposedly shut down for the first time ever. Kind of crazy being flooded in somewhat. We are not affected by the gas shortage because we have no place to go.

I didn't realize we had so many members from Springtown, I think you are the 4th (counting myself) I have seen. This is a small town area lol. It's a good thing I am still off of work with my back. Hopefully it gets resolved by next week when I have to go to the doctor.

Drove by the Sam's in Burleson and they still had it for 2.09 but you have to be a member to get their gas so I guess that has slowed down them running out. Everywhere else is about 2.39-2.49.

Thanks to WFAA, this all started a panic last night. If people up here would just buy gas like normal we would be fine. Gas still comes in from other places. I passed 3 or 4 gas tankers going Southbound on 75 from Sherman today. Another was filling up a station at 121 and Custer when I went by at 4:30.

Interested as well...

I dont give a rats azzz about gas here in DFW, filled up my truck last night and 10 extra gallons just in case but im heading to Brady Saturday and need gas out there to get home, then ill be heading to Childress Sunday and need gas coming home monday... Doubt ill run into an issue out there but wishful thinking.

Left a friends house in Prosper last night and most gas stations were out from there till I got home to Carrollton, still plenty of stations full of gas here.

It is not a panic, fuel shortages are happening at every rack. We have been running 24/7 trying to deliver fuel to our customers. Ft. Worth, Wichita Falls, Abilene and Aledo have very little product. The lines are 8 plus hours long to load the trucks and it is just getting worse.

I haven't seen any shortages either but the station I filled up at last night was much busier than normal.

I may pick up a couple of diesel cans and put them in my truck just in case.

Allen TX stations were out last night -- with few exceptions. Those exceptions hasd extreme long lines. Even at 10pm the roads were busy as rush hour with people trying to find gas.

It seems like panic is adding to the shortage. On the local Facebook pages people are warning everybody to go get gas. I think that is making it worse than it should be.

There are shortages. But also everyone panics making it worse than it should be. You've already seen it in just this thread.

Just wait until everyone fills up, a day or two later there will be deliveries that hit and everyone will still have 3/4 of a tank!

True but, the refineries that shut down were responsible for 25% of the nations gasoline. That's a big number.

There is no shortage of fuel, its panic that has everyone filling up and the trucks to refill stations is what is taking time. There are millions of gallons of fuel stored for surplus. Most of the fuel we get doesn't even come from local refineries. I know for a fact here in corpus none of the fuel produced here stays here

The only reason to act on this now is due to all the not so normal people freaking out and slurping up every gallon. That leaves us normal people to react the same way, or a station could run out. We are topping off all our trucks and equipment right now for surplus storage just in case

I wasn't panic buying this morning as I was below when I normally fill up. I drove past a couple gas stations to get to HEB to give them business with all the help they have provided. They were out with signs saying it was coming. The next one I went to only had premium so I went to the next one and filled up. This was in Pflugerville (Austin Area)

I don't think there will be a shortage once the panic is over but prices have already gone up (not sure where the line is on gouging) and I bet they keep going up.

Gas panic is in full swing in Ft Worth. I went by 5 stations that had signs "no gas, diesel only". Costco had about 20 cars in line at each pump. When I finally found gas I paid $2.43. QT is only selling gas from 1/2 of their 100+ Metroplex locations. Usually your best bet is a station on an interstate as far away from town as possible. It is going to make for and interesting Labor Day travel weekend...

Panic is in full swing here in Paris. About 1/2 are out, and several of the rest only have certain grades. Sure makes me question if I should hit the road traveling 350 miles to the ranch this weekend......

I stopped by 3 different stations that were out of gas in NRH/Hurst. Sat in line for 20 mins to get premium at the 4th station I tried. I didn't believe my wife last night when she told me DFW was running out of gas.

Plenty of gas in Austin and surrounding areas. No lines here. Just busy, between people heading to help with the storm and people headed out of town for Labor Day weekend.
