Smoked Alligator Suggestions?

My brother is getting a couple of small(2-3 feet w/o the head) alligators from a guy that raises them and sells the skulls and hide. He wants me to smoke one. Does anyone have any suggestions on rubs, brines, cook time, etc?

Bump for you ... never cooked it but I've had it three times. Two out of three it was very tough.

I've fried and had alligator sausage, but don't have a clue about smoking it
