Lord I don't know where our sister is in the process of your healing at this moment, but in any case I know You will take care of her and heal her. I ask you to guide all her care-givers and give them the wisdom, skills, and innate desire to do you work on her. Ease her pain, and bring her through a smooth recovery and rehabilitation. Give Stephanie the wisdom and conviction to follow her doctor's instructions perfectly. Help her to a complete recovery that she may continue her faithful service to her community and You Lord. Give her a clear understanding of just what it is that You have done for her and give her the boldness to exclaim it to others. We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Iím home with NO leg pain! Staying doped up on Percocet. I have to wear a back brace to keep compression on my wound. Just incision and back muscle pain. Good news is the only restrictions I have are no bending or twisting, lifting over 10 lbs. Iím allowed to go fishing and fly on an airplane for Thomas and my trip to Disney next month. No pool or lake time for 6 weeks but itís worth it so far!

Following Doctors orders to a T so far. May go back to work next week but Iím not sure about driving just yet. Taking it day by day.

Thank you GS for all the words of encouragement, love, and prayers! Yíall are the best..

Best thing is when I got back to my room post recovery, I had my nurse who had been giving me a hard time in there.... when I saw him I started hollering that couldnít feel my legs... I was freaking out!! Then I started laughing saying I got him. Haha we laughed it off but the look on his face was PRICELESS.

Surgery is actually not a big deal anymore, it's the PT that will make or break your future. DO the PT kid. Work really hard at it. Walk as much as they will allow you.

Woke up this morning pretty tender. Slept great last night but I think being laid up in bed makes me sore. Doc wants me to reach. 10,000 steps a day. Time to get moving. Not sure about working next week or not. God has a plan. He sure has blessed me with each of you as well. Thank you.

This is great to read, I am in the similar situation. My leg pain just started a month ago. Reading this makes me feel better about it though. Glad everything worked out and you are home. Thank you for posting.

atta boy girl!! You don't know it, but you are another one of my TBH heroes! After getting to spend time with you at Bownanza this last year and witness first hand your wonderful sense of humor, your insatiable smile and attitude of positiveness, this little setback won't be a bump on a gnat's butt for you!! Hang in there and keep on smilin'!! You got this!

Lord we lift up our sister Stephanie to you for healing and comfort. Give her strength and wisdom as she recovers from her surgery. Bathe her in Your Grace and comfort and give her wisdom to do the right things at the right time to facilitate a full recovery for her injury. Guide her and direct her path Lord we ask in Jesus name, Amen.

It takes a little while and you will do a few things that let you know don’t do it again. I walked about 3 miles a day. I was back lifting a 8 weeks. I think the stabilization and circulation from walking helps the most. You will be back soon and it will be well worth it

Walking was the best exercise for my recovery. First full day home from the hospital I was almost able to make it down my driveway, with a walker. Next day end of driveway, then almost to neighbor’s house, etc. little by little I worked myself up to 11 miles/day. I had the grannies at the local park cheering me on as they watched my progress.

Take it easy, baby steps and stop twerking!

Your body will tell you when it's not right.
Have a good friend that is disabled with back issues. His problems come from overdoing things when feels good with no discomfort. Usually puts him flat on his back for 2-3 weeks recuperating. He always says that he won't do that again, but this has been ongoing for several years. Hardheaded.

I had the same issue with my S1. My neurosurgeon said that I needed surgery but I could not afford the time off from work. I was able to work through the pain for several months and it finally subsided a little. I no longer suffer from sciatica but the back pain is still present.

Post Back Surgery Update:
Today is a 10 days post back surgery. Just wanted to give an update that I am following Drs orders and walking a lot. I aim for 10,000 steps a day. I am still in a back brace.
I was able to drive for the first time yesterday. I will remain on light duty at work for 4-6 weeks and go to a Dr followup next week. My surgery was invasive on my L5-S1.
(No fishing, hunting, or swimming for me til at least July)
I still have some numbness in my left foot but Dr says thatís the last thing to go away with time.
Iím sensitive and have to resist bending, lifting, and twisting.
My Mom goes back to South Carolina tomorrow. Shoutout to her for putting up with me the past 2 weeks. Thanks to everyone for checking up on me; friends, family, my DFD family, TBH members, SCs, phone calls, text messages, and prayers. Love you all so much, hereís a picture of my butt crack.
