Winchester 3 inch 1550 fps steel number 2 will kill virtually anything that breathes. It is absolute murder on geese and big ducks. Pattern is a little loose on decoying teal. Cranes will fold like a b52 on it. Coyotes drop in their tracks. The speed helps you get in front of the bird for head shots as well.

For duck I prefer a full choke with #4. I always carry #2 for those skittish days. My brand of choice is Black Clouds. They pattern well through my gun and over the years have left me with less cripples. They aren't the cheapest out there but I take conservative shots. I don't sky bust or takes shots that I know aren't going to bring the bird down. I hope its a good hunt for you. I've always felt the first hunt is the one that will make or break you in duck hunting. I've been doing it for over 15 years and it never gets old working the birds and watching them decoy up nice!

All 3 can easily be amended.
I dont know a single person that uses 2 3/4 inch shells for waterfowl. I could kill them with it without a doubt, but I dont think I've seen anyone shoot 2 3/4 steel shells.
That being said, I'm a fan of Hevi Shot, Kent Fasteel, and Rio. All I shoot is 3" #4, all the way from teal to cranes. They all kill them dead, more importantly you need to see what your gun likes to cycle and pattern.
I've been shooting Rio lately cause it's the cheapest, buying 2 cases at a time from Roger's it comes to $9/box
