    Keeping crawfish?

Picking up a sack Friday around lunch, but not cooking them till Saturday afternoon. Normally I just put them in a cooler with a bag of ice but it's usually 4-6 hours, not 24-30 hours. Will they be ok if I leave drain hole open and cooler lid cracked?

Cover in loose ice and open the drain. They will be good for a couple days

Should be good, as long as they stay cold

I bought a sack early Saturday morning with plans to cook them on Sunday. Put a bag of ice in the bottom of the cooler (drain spout open), placed an old towel on the ice, and put the bag of crawfish on top of that. Its best to keep them in the sack and make sure you keep the lid cracked so they can breathe. I had very few that were dead.

I leave them in the sack, cover with ice, tilt cooler toward drain and leave drain open.

Crack lid, doubled over towel on top, ice on top, drain open. I want to keep them moist but not wet and cold. Not right but how we do it
