    Painting a Four Wheeler

I saved $1000 by purchasing a red four wheeler.

I want to paint it black. I’ve tried Rust-Oleum plastic paint, Truck Bed Coating and Trim and Bumper Paint.

I’ve roughed it up with steel wool. Nothing sticks.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Leave it red deer are color blind lol.
My friends have painted their side by sides I will check with them to see what process they have used. I think it is automotive paint.

        Thanks.

        I’m not worried about deer.

        Illegals are a different story.

          Using primer?

What about taking to sticker shop and having it wrapped in camo

You can have it wrapped in flat black just as easy as painting, if not easier. That’s my suggestion.

I’ve seen kids that worked for me have their whole car wrapped and when the lease was up, had it removed and the paint was perfect.

I have a red ATV myself and thought about it myself. Flat black or flat army green. But I got so much cow poo and mud all soaked into it that it might be impossible now. Lol [emoji13]

When I did my golf cart, I sanded everything down real well and then used bedliner in a spray can. It held up well.

Plasti Dip spray paint from Home Depor or auto parts store. Peels off when done. Good enough to withstand New England winters on my truck wheels when I lived there.

Illegals see better way better than deer.
Wash it with dawn dish soap and hot water use ppg automotive paint no need to sand it.

Not trying to sway you from doing it but the value diminishes a lot once you paint the plastics. But if it is already in rough shape or you are going to keep it for a long time have at it.

I would recommend looking for a black or grey plastic fender set off Ebay. It's very difficult to paint fenders and keep them looking good.
