I wish they would make the penalty steeper. Should fine the player, team, and suspend the player a game for first offense, 2 for second, and so on.

They can still go hide in the locker room like little babies. This is complete BS once again from liberal lawyer Roger Goodell.

This was my first thought when I heard the ruling. After letting the protests go with no action for so long they are just poking the bear at this point. I'm guessing there will be players protesting in new ways, kneeling and paying fines, etc.

Staying in the locker room is allowed, which is still a form of protesting to me, so I still wonít be watching

WaPo - Kaiser Poll:

Itís never appropriate to kneel during the national anthem as a form of protest.

Republicans: 86% agree
Independents: 51% agree
Democrats: 29% agree

Age 50 and older: 63% agree
Age 30 - 49: 50% agree
Age 18 - 29: 38% agree

Of course middle-aged independents turned in the least politically biased results. If we could just figure out what to do with older Republicans and younger Democrats, we might be able to move forward with some reasonable compromises.

why should we compromise with disrespectful pos that don't want to stand for the flag of the nation that gives them the opportunity to play a game and make millions of $$$$per year. I say hike their azzes to another country and
try it. see how far they get.

No matter how you spin it, not one protester said they chose to kneel to disrespect the flag. The original protester CONSULTED a Green Beret, and he said there was no intended disrespect. Just 11 hours ago Nate Boyer himself retweeted that he suggested that Kaepernick kneel as a meeting in the middle. NOTHING DISRESPECTFUL.

Players weren't even on the field until when?

It's about money. Not Patriotism

When your FAN base finds it to be disrespectful, it's disrespectful! The fans have spoken, causing loss of revenue.

It must be even smaller considering 7 of the top 10 watched TV programs of 2017 were directly related to the NFL.

That is actually UP from 2016 ...

Ehhhh, the original kneeler is that BBall player Mohamed. Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

Lets see quick google search and. Yup.

But when asked about it, he didnít back down in the slightest. Calling the flag ďa symbol of oppression, of tyranny,Ē he said. ďThis country has a long history of that. I donít think you can argue the facts. You canít be for God and for oppression.Ē

Please humor me and tell me what change you think that Colin (or Mohamed) has brought about in this country through his kneeling? From his pig sock, his castro shirts, to his adopted white parents, what positive outcomes have come to fruition through his protests of oppression (while making millions of dollars) ?

So if the kneeling is helping the ratings, and more people are watching NFL games than ever before, and it is helping out the country socially........why would the owners want to change the kneeling policy, which would theoretically lower viewership?

I am having a hard time logically following this.

Sick of the NFL and it started before the protests. The protests just sealed the deal.

It's about money. Not Patriotism
Players NEVER were on the field until the NFL did a very profitable deal with the U.S. Military......nothing wrong with that, very smart & profitable move! The deal enhanced the military recruiting which is always a good thing for our nation. I personally like them on the field, but I know the "rest of the story" for what it is!
At least this lady is calling a spade a spade. No hyperbole, no bait & switch just what it WAS and now what it IS. The initial protests had zippo to do with OUR military or our flag. The script was flipped (great job actually) and the perception was completely changed in the eyes of the U.S. viewer. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...25E1&FORM=VIRE

She nailed it with that 1 min interview?

When you kneel in protest during OUR COUNTRY'S national anthem it has plenty to do with our flag and those that fought and died for it. I understand that the initial proteest may not have had to do with our military ect but they should not have done it during the national anthem. Thats when it became about OUR flag and OUR military. Those fools make millions for playing a game in this country but cant stand for OUR nations anythem? Pure BS. But like Jj I'm **** sure not surprised you have that view point.

So fill the rest of us in on what the rest of the story is Paul Harvey!
