Originally posted by Jake View PostI really like watching the MLF format on TV. I watch it whenever I see it on. Only issue is what others have said, pro's get on a pattern of catching smaller fish and just hammer away. I know how to catch a bunch of small fish, I want to see the pro's catch big one.
I think an easy way to solve this is to give bonus weight for bigger fish. Something like fish over 3 pounds, gives you 150% of their weight. Fish over 5 pounds gives you 175% of their wieght and fish over 7 pounds gives you 2005 of their weight.
That or just say fish under 2 pounds you only get 75% of their wieght counted.
Something to motivate the pros to really focus on catching heavier fish and not just hammer away on 1 pounders.
I don't see why they couldn't keep the 5 fish rule. An angler's 5 best fish are counted. Since they are all weighed, the culling would happen automatically. I wonder if they are going to keep the penalties that they have in MLF...

Ouch BASS just lost the 2018 AOY, and there 2017/2018 Classic champion, 9 of the top 10 guys in points have defected, the discontent must've been strong.Last edited by bossbowman; 10-01-2018, 01:46 PM.

I have been keeping up with this via a guy i met a few years back that recently decided to leave the FLW tour to fish this MLF tour. It will consist of 80 guys, invited by the tour, to fish i think 9 tournaments. In this tour, the anglers will get to fish out of their own boats though instead of the MLF issued boats on the MLF shows. I think that the BASS and FLW tours dropped the ball on the management ends of things this year, and MLF stepped up to the plate.

Only two left to announce. Cool to see Andy Morgan join, he is a great fisherman and always wanted to see how he would stack up against the Elite field. I posted 8 names I was hoping to see yesterday and so far 6 of those have announced for BPT. I can't imagine Ike not being one of the last two, although he has talked a lot about retiring from tournaments the last couple of years I don't think he will be able to pass this up.
