    New rifle?

Looking to get a new .308 bolt gun

3 factors in order of MY importance

    1 accuracy
    2 weight (light)
    3 length (shorter)

1k budget for rifle only. May flex for the perfect rifle.

    Opinions?

I've been happy with my Savage model 10 fcp-sr with fluted 20" barrel.

It's a nice rifle no doubt. Keeping weight in mind if I go with a 9lbs + rifle I think I'll go with the bergara. I'd like to keep total weight under 10

Any of the Bergera B-14 series. They’re 700 footprint actions, so they’ll take any 700 aftermarket parts such as triggers, stocks, bases, etc. They’re **** accurate rifles too. Much higher quality than anything Remington puts out.

I know the perfect gun. it will shoot at least .75 moa maybe better it is 6.2lbs and 38 inches overall with 18 inch barrel. you can add a HS precision stock to it and have a really nice gun for $700 OR keep the stock it comes with and have a fantastic $400 gun. ruger American predator 308

I've thought about going this route too. Just buy a $400 gun and upgrade stock and trigger. I know myself and i have only fell in love with a couple rifles that I won't part with. That being said I want to put money in one that I can get back out of if it isn't added to the NEVER let go section of the safe

Right now the 2 topping the list are

                  Browning Xbolt hells canyon speed

                  Tikka T3X compact tactical

Thoughts or experiences with either of these?

Here you go. And will be sexy to boot

Slightly over budget but man are they pretty rifles. Or just the plain jane. Mod 70 featherweight can be had for around 800. And then you get a nice wood grain rifle that will come in around 8-9 lbs with scope and will shoot just fine. Why go buy an ugly *** plastic Ruger when you have the means and ability to pony up and get a classy nice rifle.

Looked at that one several times but Im Selling a nice 700 CDL to fund this WANT mainly because it is such a good looking rifle I don't want to hunt with it and scar up the wood. I think I'm pretty set on synthetic

In that case the following in no particular order but I do know the CZ rifles shoot lights out.

                          Savage 110 scout
                          Ruger gunsite scout
                          CZ 557 urban counter sniper

Wow! That is a good looking rifle!

But I think for this one I'm looking to go synthetic. And for some reason I like the stocks like on the hells canyon and some of the other rifles with webbing (basically just not plain Jane)

the American trigger can be really good buy a 12 dollar light spring or take it completely out and you have less than 2lb trigger. it isnt a Jewell but it is nice. I have the 308, 6.5 and 22lr Americans all threaded barrels and all shoot fantastic
