Power was out for about 2 hours here, came back 20 min ago, I’m making coffee and hot water and putting into large thermos to make sure family has something warm to drink Incase it goes out again while I’m at work.

Been off near 4 hours now. It’s snowing harder than this ol boy has seen before. Had to get the generator out of the barn and across the barnyard to the house. Pulled a trail in the snow with it. One heater, a light tower and the coffee maker going.

In Caddo Mills the power has been off and back on 3 times since 1 a.m. No real set time on how long it stays off each time. It's currently on so that's good.

I've got a fire going so that helps.

Sure wish I had a fire place or s a wood stove about now. Wife and kids are snug in bed, so we’re alright. I’m kicking myself for not filling up the bath tub last night though.

Just went off again here.

But after reading some of the other post about people being off for an extended time I'm grateful that it's been coming back on every time so far.

Default Rolling blackout

Power is out in brazoria, been out for over 2 hours now. Iím about to light the fireplace.
Not terribly worried about getting too cold. But I am worried about my well. We are down to about 25psi with one faucet dripping.

Pray this storm pushes on through without anymore issues for anyone.

10 hours now is Spring Branch Bulverde. Getting cold inside. Just have the gas fireplace in the living room. We all bundled up on couch. So much for keeping the pool running and from freezing. Thatís gonna be some expensive repairs Iím sure.

And we’re on! You don’t know just how much of a candy *** you are until the power goes out in the cold. I ordered a spare generator already. Not taking that chance again. I WILL have a 220 hook up on the well after this.

Agreed. They know we get near max capacity during the summer. I have gotten notices warning of possible blackouts the last few summers. This is no surprise.

Power has been out just north of katy since 3 am. Was on and off from 1-3 am to the point once our heater purged, it would fire up for 5 min, and power was back out. Centerpoint site is nearly completely down, and something tells me way more than 95k are without power in houston.

I picked up another extension cord at 4 this morning from our camper that's parked 15 min away. No power the whole way.

4 hours in Mansfield. One would think it would be back on soon.... we have major issues in America if we can’t keep power on during a Winter storm....can’t wait til it’s all ran by solar wind mills and Batteries. There will be no of this on 6 days of sub freezing temps and no sunshine

Mine went off at 530. I laid there for an hour and decided to get up. We have a gas fireplace downstairs so started it. May fire up the burners on the stove in a few min to get heat on the opposite side of the house downstairs.

If not back on in 30 min will drain the pool filter and pumps.

Crazy that we don't have the electric capacity for this. To me thats bad planning on their part.

Out for the 3rd or 4th time here in flower mound. Got a little Webber grill in living room I’ve turned on here and there for some heat and when it is on trying to get house warmed up. Also covered as many windows with blankets as I could to save heat.

Weíve been down now almost 12 hours. Pool pumps and waterfall were running fine when power went out. Now the pool is completely frozen over. Probably gonna be bad.

I have a fireplace with an insert in it, 9 pieces of wood heated the entire house yesterday, might need a few more pieces today. If the power goes off, the blowers won't work, but the fireplace will still heat the living area. Have propane camping equipment for back up to cook on. Water well has a good well house over it and a heater in it, but if the power goes, none of that will work, so I have plenty of bottled water. So far, power hasn't gone off here. I have a generator, but couldn't get it to start yesterday...

That is what everyone has up here in the Midwest. Actually more Propane than natural gas. Natural gas in most city limits, propane in rural areas, wood stoves, wood fired boilers, and radiant in floor heating. The demand is really no higher now than in any other year. There is plenty of power on the grid available. If a customer has an outage due to a blown transformer, fuse, downed line, etc. our little CO-OP (Southern Iowa Electric) is on it quickly. Usually within 30-45 minutes from a call power is back on. We have had one outage since we have lived here. A bird blew out transformer fuse Labor Day weekend. I was worried since it was a holiday. I called and a service crew was here in 30 minutes.
