You think ammo is bad, you should try to find a gocart, dirt bike, or any other fun toy to work on during a pandemic that isnt the price and shape of a great 60s mopar product.

I'm driving a truck for a living now. Last week I picked up a load, couldn't talk about it then, but it's delivered now so my bag order is done. I hauled 43,947lbs of ammo to an online retailer from an Aguila plant/warehouse.
The warehouse was pretty much empty. They only had enough ammo for maybe 3 more trucks. I asked to buy some ammo and their prices were fair. Higher, but not by much. Unfortunately, they had nothing I needed or wanted. While speaking to the head guy, he told me the ammo shortage started before Covid. Covid was just the finishing blow. At the distributer I delivered to, in North Carolina (will not name drop) I also asked to buy ammo. The head warehouse gal told me to go online and make a purchase and they'll give me what I bought right then and there. Jumped at the chance for more ammo. Till I saw the price. >90c per round. I'm talking about 9mm, .556 and 7.62. The cheapest ammo was selling at over 3 times its cost. When I asked why, I was told, "To compete with other distributors." That didn't make sense to me. I thought that to compete, you kept prices lower, not raised them. So long as people keep buying overpriced ammo, it'll stay that way. Need to stop the demand to do the price Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk |

I know where there’s multiple new AR’s for $1,000 but I don’t need any. I personally wouldn’t pay that but I guess others are willing to.

If anyone has to resort to over ridiculously gouging on a couple boxes of ammo to make a few bucks then they obviously need it worse than I do.
It’s like people rushing to the gas station at any natural disaster or crisis to fill their tanks to save a couple of bucks.... if that makes a huge impact on your life then your already bad off. |

I made a trip to Houston yesterday to make an ammo swap with a TBH'er. After the swap I ventured to the gun show in Pasadena. I couldn't believe all the Monarch/Academy ammo in various calibers that were for sale in that place. Minimum markup was at least double some of it was more. I didn't see many people purchasing it though.

Is this kind of like I buy tickets to the World Series or to the Super Bowl for $XX dollars, and then turn around and sell them for $*** dollars?

Supply and demand it’s simple if you need it bad enough pay the price if not then don’t buy it. For those that don’t want to be in that situation they should be stocked up and stay that way

If you've owned a gun more than 6 months and you don't have ammo, you must be challenged. If you seriously need ammo right now I guarantee tbh would step up. If you simply just want ammo, your ineptitude has just cost you, pay to play.
It'll return to the shelves soon enough. |

Got a lot better for me. I opened a couple random boxes in the garage and they were full of AR and handgun rounds. Yay me!

It’s definitely getting better. I was able to get a box of 9mm, 243 and 308 at “normal” prices. It was limited to one box per caliber, they even have two types of 243 and like 8 options for 308... and other calibers...

I normally don’t talk about this subject because it puts a bad taste in my mouth, but let’s just say some on here will need or want something one day. Just don’t be surprised when guys tell them to pack sand just saying.

Considering I’m still seeing guys wait around for hours at scheels while they slowly put out ammo and grab it out of their hands. Don’t see this changing anytime soon. Also great time for company’s to increase prices. We will notice but just be happy we can get ammo and won’t complain

I made the mistake of getting a new caliber in December, then spent a lot of time since then hunting ammo. Luckily, the only thing that I had to pay the panic price for was primers and brass. Everything else I got a pre-panic prices by doing a lot of hunting and swapping.
As far as you guys griping about the prices. You have to understand that this is a gamble for the ones reselling. As soon as people have what they need, the price will drop and the resellers may get stuck with a lot of high priced ammo that they take a loss on. I needed the primers and brass now, and paid the price (tax) for being late to the game. It is as simple as that. If you don't need it, or want to pay that price, don't buy it. |

You got yourself there, skippy
![]() Maybe you should spend some time with a dictionary, and see if you can find the word "literal" in there, without asking for help. Last edited by HeyMikey; 02-08-2021 at 11:33 AM. |

I've been informally tracking 22lr and 9mm
On ammoseek.com. 22lr is on a downward trend at .20 per rd. Was at .24 for weeks 9mm is at .60 after many weeks at .66 And I saw 270 win at 3.50 per round after many weeks at $5 per rnd |

Hearing QBAN and GNCP will be runners soon. I bought a few as lotto plays. No idea why they will run though.
And ICNM I bought at .0013 another lotto. |
