    winch up feeder

    i have everything built, the leg inserts in the top plate are 1" rigid. the legs will be 1.25" rigid conduit, how long should the legs be?

      I use 1 1/4" pipe and 1" pipe for the top plate. The 1 1/4'' comes in 21ft joints. I buy 2 joints and cut into 7ft sections. I weld another of the 1'' in the 1 1/4 for a sleeve. So, then you have a tripod that is 14ft tall. Puts the timer and motor about 6ft up.

        I think my winch-up legs are 14'. Too short and you lose the advantage of a winch-up IMO.

            Mine are 14' two joints cut to 14' and weld the two left over for another 14'.

              man, I don't think 10' legs will get ya where ya need to be. I would think 14' would be minimum.
