Weather looks cold for Rifle opener

Arctic intrusion looks like it may invade Texas late next week. Nothing dramatic like the ‘83 & ‘89 periods recently discussed, but good below average cold nonetheless

I expect it is going to change. Models are not handling the cold front on Tues/Wednesday very well at all right now and I expect Wednesday will be in the 30’s and everything past adjusts down accordingly. However I would be surprised if it’s a constant colder period. We will probably have a 75-80° slip in the period behind a front and before the next

I do hope it is colder for the opener but I will not complain if it stays n the 60’s for highs
