Both play a role, but with today's "aggressive cams", I hardly ever see a detriment from a "stiff" arrow.
I set most bows up with an arrow that is the length of the "true draw", and an arrow at 28 inches long, would have a "true draw" bow of 29 3/4 inches.
With the Experience, and it's hard hitting Over-Drive Binary cams, the stiffer .340 shaft should be the better shaft.
So what if you give up 8 fps, if the shaft flies straighter?

Lol. It never hurts for the arrow to be spined a tad stiff especially while carrying a broad head.

                I'd say 400. Out of a 63# set up my 400s shot great, now I'm at 70# shooting 350s

I'm running into this problem with my Assassin trying to shoot 29" 400's with a 29" draw (not working out). I'm gonna try cutting them down first then switch over to 340's if that doesn't work.

Rocky, thanks for your input on this thread- I think I know what I need to do.

Good thing my Tribute is on or I'd be in trouble.

never seen an overdrive binary not like a stiff shaft. level nock travel is a beautiful thing.
