Especially if he was drinking Miller Lite.

Clearly a communist terrorist casing a joint with the intention of infecting the place with a biological weapon or irrational fear.

You did your country ..or at least that bar.. a great disservice today.

Haha I'll try harder next time I guess

EDIT: they aren't attached. Which is confusing because I saw a 51% sign with my two semi functional eyes

Businesses do that a lot. Either they are trying to discourage you from carrying there, or they just dont know the right sign to post.

Im guessing either the guy carrying was off duty LEO, or an informed citizen that knows the sign wouldnt hold water in court (but could get expensive to prove depending on the responding officer and DA) as he was in a blue sign location.

Depending on how much Richard Rawlings has to do with the bar location, I cant see them posting it to discourage carry. We met him at a nascar race back in the spring and he was obviously carrying concealed despite the police escort! Hard to keep the pistol grip from showing when you are constantly bending over, shaking hands!

With the laws that changed this year, it's only a class C misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $200 for conceal carry in an area that doesn't allow it by law...and this is only if the officer or property owner wants to pursue it. Open carry in those areas carry a possible Class A misdemeanor and would be way more likely to get you in a bind. The "blue sign" felony penalties are for UNlicensed carry. With only a "possible" $200 fine involved for licensed concealed carry, I personally will carry with little worry about signs or no signs. When I look at the risk/reward, I would rather take my chances with a ticket than to not be armed.

Ignoring a 30.06 or 30.07 SIGN is a class C (open or concealed carry). Ignoring a verbal warning is a Class A. Ignoring a 51% is still class A if not a Felony!

The only thing that changed on penalties on 1/1/16 was 30.06 and 30.07 sign violations from class A to class C misdemenor. Everything else is still the same.

If this is true then I have misunderstood what I have read and apologize for spreading bad info. Either way for me, I will carry wherever I go which happens to never include places that have 51% signs. So the worst that could happen at the place I go is a ticket that can't be more than $200. People speed everyday with the possibility of the same consequence. The consequences of needing a firearm and not having it far out way the possibility of a ticket in my mind. I realize some won't see it that way.

Yea, just didnt want you to end up taking a ride, spending time in the grey bar hotel and loosing your right to carry and maybe your right to own any gun permanently! dropping the 06/07 sign violation to class C was one of the best things to come out of HB-910, but all other prohibitted places including 51% are still the same. maybe that will be addressed next year!

Learn the law. 51% by TABC license is a red sight with a huge 51%. under is a blue unlicensed carry sign. It is all about the TABC license.

They put up a wrong sign. I confronted an owner about it (not this one). They told me they did not want guns there.

I called TABC and reported it.....they were fined thousands of dollars for improper signage.......and it was changed.

I only returned to see the sign changed......not to spend money.
