We have had packages that exploded when the victim picked that package up. We have also had one where the victim actually picked the package up, brought it into the residence and opened it up and it exploded at that point," Manley said.

Having 2 different types of triggers is kind of interesting. Seems like the one that detonated when it was picked up, had to be dropped off carefully. And whom ever did it was somewhat knowledgeable on this kind of stuff.

That or it’s a remote detonation and the person responsible is watching to determine when to set it off.

Thats a good point playa. Pretty cold hearted if the bomber is watching teenagers and the elderly get blown apart. I still think the neighborhood are fairly close knit and someone out of place, would stand out.

Scary stuff. So random. We receive lots of boxes; will definitely be looking closely before touching them now. Particularly worrisome that they have various triggering mechanisms or possibly being set off by remote, with the perpetrator observing.

As I'm typing this, a package just arrived... Whew ... Amazon Prime, had wife's name, legit label, brought it in, no explosion. Will let her open it later.

Can't tell if you're making a joke about the people who post this kind of thing whenever "Austin" comes up in this forum, or if you're seriously reflexively posting this on a thread about bombings.
I would imagine he was serious...there are some very weird people on 6th street

I had to read your post a couple time but I agree with you. The criminal justice system is out of wack. They push this mental illness so far and do so many test just for a competency trial, then the real trial. Defense attorneys look for any technicality to get someone off with a full confession to a crime. Not to mention the jurors who do not feel like ruining someone’s life or sending them prison

The racial angle may be more legit. 2 of the three families knew each other and were active in the black community and Square Six.

The devices were set up to be detonated by motion like shaking or jostling, which is why they exploded when they were picked up. They devices also had some sort of safety switch, which enabled the bomber to move the devices without blowing themselves up, the sources briefed on the investigation told ABC News.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/austin-bomb...ry?id=53718661

It sounds like the person making them is pretty sophisticated.

And with them being placed at the residence, it was a targeted attack.

I don't think they have a clue who's doing what. They publicly addressed the "bomber", I think they're looking for a way to track them. Sad, our world is coming to this. Never thought I'd see bombings, in Texas, in my lifetime.

Turns out he was just trying to find our package. Amazon needs to require these contract drivers to keep better schedules or ID their vehicles or something. Now with these bombings I am sure people are being even more suspicious.

Hey, illegals commit crimes far exceeding this bomber and they want to give sanctuary to them. Why not do the same for the bomber.

People in charge and some of the head LEO’s in Austin are responsible for this because of their liberal warped attitude.

When it turns out that it is a white male between 25-35, will you still blame law enforcement? Why not blame his parents or the health care system while you are at it?

That has not been reported just that a "tripwire" was used ....nothing has been said about how it was tripped. So your BIL might be letting out info in an open investigation that he should not be.

APD feels this was the same person as the other bombings. Just different way of doing it this time. They saw similarities in all the bombs that have not been made public. So they feel its not a copycat. One more reason they are not giving out too many details in this open investigation.

Not blaming everyone in law enforcement (just the head folks who have popped off at the mouth with their hypocrisy in the past) and I didn’t know this was a “prayer” thread.

I’m making no attempt to profile the bomber either.

Prayers up!

I likely have more “education” on explosives and the mindset of bombers than you’d ever believe.

It is a miracle this person did not detonate something at SXSW. Perfect opportunity at a target dense area with low security measures. These are either targeted individuals, which seems unlikely with the more random nature of this latest event or that crowd does not fit his agenda

Playa, did Dr. Kaczynski confim your analysis of the specific reason why he used bombs? It just so happens you are off base on the exact reasoning.

I mentioned “liberalism” in my first post, are you versed in Dr. Kaczynski’s chapter of such motivations?

My first post was more sarcasm directed toward the liberal idiots and their hipster hypocrisy.

Its likely certain the explosive experts are on the trail.
