    $40 Bow Press

    Had the steel already just spent a few bucks on bolts and the ratchet strap at HD and here it is.

          That is a great idea! So the strap just pulls the 2 arms closer and holds the pressure? When you release the strap how slow does the pressure go back on the bow? When I get brave enough to mess with my back up bow I will build one. Thanks!

            That's pretty nice. I'd put a little longer feet at least on the back and sides...

              That's pretty much the concept. The original design that some have used involves steel braided cable between the arms and a bottle jack that press on the cable to draw the arms together.

              IMO, that is alot better and safer design. I have to let the strap down one click at a time. The jack just relieves pressure slow.

              Ya I just turned it so the longer foot is to the back. but it is suprisingly stable.
