Default Buggscuffle Ranch

Leaving Monday for a four day hunt at Buggscuffle. This will be my first time hunting there. Been there for the TBOT shoot a couple of years ago and decided I wanted to hunt the place. I will be hunting with the Longbow and Recurve, trying to get my first Trad kill. Has anyone ever hunted there with Trad gear? I looked over their website and didnít see any Trad kills at all. Any advice is appreciated, just hunting whitetail this time, wish me luck!

Jason

No sir. But I can tell you that most of those places the deer are pressured. Really brush in your blinds.

Buggscuffle is a high fence, guided hunt only, ranch. Blinds are set by the guide.

Good luck, hope you connect.

It's been close to 15 years since I hunted there. Back then it was a decent day lease type place. I was fortunate and killed an axis buck, my brother left a shirt tail. There's been plenty of stick bow kills on that place, have fun and good luck.

Iíve hunted there quite a bit, but it has been a long time ago, and was run by different folks than who run it now. I killed my smallest pig ever on the Bugscuffle (along with a few good ones too)!

Good luck!

Hopefully itís still a good place, it sounds like they have had some changes. I was just worried about Hunting with Trad after not seeing any photos with Trad kills. I will be sure and give an update when we get back.

Years ago we went and no luck. Didn’t even see a deer at the area I hunted. Scheduled a hunt for next year and was lied to about some fallow bucks so we canceled our hunt and never went back.

You must have gone about the same time we made our last trip. Once arriving at the ranch we where hit with a bunch of restrictions that where not disclosed when booking. Other than that we made it work and had a good time.

High Fence can be fun, it all depends on what you are wanting from the trip. Hope you have a good time and connect.

I don't remember everything but the big one was not being allowed to kill a Fallow as there where a couple in our group that specifically came with that in mind.

No to take away from your thread but does anyone know where Brian and Deb are? I know Brian had some severe health issues and haven't heard from them in a while. Great people and I didn't know they were not at the Bugskuffle any longer. Just curious.

Thanks.

Doug, they are basically just over the other side of them mountain from Bug Scuffle. Bryan is running a place called Growing Rocks Ranch.

Unless he's on top of the mountain, or at the bunkhouse, his signal is prolly zero!

Im at the bunkhouse, been hunting! Have lots of opportunities thus far just couldnít get a good shot yet. Have had a tall 9 Point, corsican, big fallow all in bow range. Itís a beautiful place and I am very happy so far. Still trying for a good whitetail, but might take a doe if I have a good shot as well.

Sounds like prime opportunity needs to be met with execution of shot. Hope you get one soon.

Had a great time at Bugscuffle. No bow kills, but took an axis doe for meat. Had lots of animals in bow range but none that I wanted. We are going back next year again, I think my wife had more fun than I did, lol. They have plenty of setups for close bow kills, but most of them are for compounds. The guide was good at accommodating me to get up close on some sets. Had a red stag at 15 yards and a corsican at 8! Overall I was pleased with the place and we already booked again next year. Going to save some pennies so I can maybe get a shot at the stag again!
