I got out of the tripod at 9:30 this morning and as I was gathering my stuff a group of pigs went by about 40 yards away. I guessed where they were going and made a loop of 150 yards to get downwind. Sure enough they were there feeding in a greenfield - I nocked an arrow and started slipping the last 20 yards to get in range. I was going down a hill with my eyes on the pigs when my feet got tangled in an old fallen barbed wire fence hidden in the leaves - I went down hard. First point of contact was the arrow and it snapped. When I got to my feet the piece with the broadhead was stuck through my hat above my left ear. I guess that’s why they say to never walk around with a nocked arrow. In case you are wondering it spooked the pigs.
