Default Yellowfin Tuna - Offshore November / Interested?

We have a few spots open on our annual Texas Tuna Offshore trip.

Dates are November 13 - 14 - 15

For those interested, let me know

We nail em every year and this is a private charter. We bring food and drinks and basically live like Pirates offshore - nailing tuna and other species in the mix.

On a single trip, I nailed Yellowfin, Blackfin & BigEye tuna.

Last trip, swordfish around 200lbs as well as a 12ft squid, circled the boat at night....as the tuna were blowing up everywhere.

It gets absolutely JURASSIC - the power of these animals is simply unreal

Burnadell giving it hell! Glen behind Randy.

Doug with a fine BlackJack - he scratched this species off his bucket list last year.

You can borrow gear. Don't let that stop you. Lots of pro-tuna guys have extra gear they're willing to share.

That trip is an adventure to say the least.

I won't be going but I'm sitting here next to a Penn 4/0 wide on a cheap Blue Fin rod that someone can borrow if they want. It needs new line but should work for someone in need.

Just be prepared to fish 24/7 with a group of crazy old farts. Nicest but craziest men you'll ever hang with!

And how will this trip top the care bear outfit?

#####before anyone clears their schedule I think it is the week before what is posted.

It is a blast, I have only seen one person have a bad time on any of these trips except one guy got sick leaving on a 3 day trip and was sick when we were pulling back into the docks. I even held him up to catch a fish when we were trolling and he tried. Fish will be killed and a good time will be had. Ready to go today.

******Dates are the 7th 8th 9th**********

Cost per person is about $1k

It is fishing but on all the trips I've ben on I think everyone has pulled on plenty of fish. Will eat like a king and hear plenty of BS. Plenty of fishing room on boat. Will cast lures, chunk, jig, and troll for tuna. Fish with Captain several times a year and he will run until he finds fish and will fish hard. Community meals. Plenty of Poke and sushi. Anything else that I can answer I will

Oh you have to make it Chris! Just run the numbers on a pound of prime yellowfin tuna steaks. Then factor in your 3 yellowfin limit, averaging 70 - 100lbs per fish. Vacuum sealed steaks at the house and can tuna trimmings - you end up with a bunch of prime meat.

We've seen tuna that hit 200 lbs flying in the air at 40 - 50 mph. To be honest, not sure I want a part of that but.....what the heck, we have a boat full of willing anglers to give it a run

Kruppa24, everyone of these trips is off the chart. We've hooked them jumping out of the water, chasing flying fish. We've hooked them swimming plugs subsurface, we've hooked them deep jigging and or free lining a circle hook with a chunk of cut bait (cut up blackfin tuna). Sonar can see the fish and we dial in the depth...eventually they come up and or flying fish show up at the rig/boat lights with hungry yellowfin tuna, busting the water in pursuit. Some of these tunas are splashing so much water it looks like someone tossed a hand grenade into the water. Explosive spray as these fish get aerial.

Was a correction on the date it leaves on the 7th and returns on the 9th of november. The trips vary depending on what the plan is but generally go something like this. We show up at 5am and leave at 6 am. Boat ride most of the day and begin fishing late afternoon. Fish all that night and thru the next day. Then fish into the next night and early morning hours. Then collapse into the bunks and sleep till we get to the dock that afternoon!

You don't need much to try one of these trips. The boat provides gear if you dont have any. The captains and mates will help you catch fish. No stress or worry of the typical head boat problems. Lots of space and lots of friends! If you ever wanted to try this type of fishing you wont find a better chance to get started!

If you have any questions PM one of us.

As far as tackle- I wouldn't bring anything that was star drag as it will get smoked. If bringing an egg beater make sure it has enough to handle it. I fish with egg beaters and have both Penn Torque and Van Staal that I carry. For conventional to cat most use Avet or Accurate and for chunking 30s seem to be the ticket. If you don't have gear don't let that slow you down. There will be plenty of rods and reels to catch tuna on. Tackle- Id bring a few glo Ahi Assault diamond jigs (couple 4 and 8 ounce) and maybe 2-3 flying fish lures if you want to cast.

I know there were about 6 open spots- I think 1 or 2 have been taken but not sure. We keep it at 14 or 15 total for the boat so we have plenty of room

For you neophytes that keep saying you want to go.........someday.......well, this is your time! Quit putting it off! You WILL have fun, and you will have an adventure like no other. You might even get to meet Garca!!! If you are near East Texas or between here and Beeville, via Hwy 59, I can loan you my gear since I will be traveling down that way October 11-14 or so.

This is an EXPERIENCE that you girls should, well...experience! Just DO IT!!! There are no better pirates on the seas than the ones who you will be fishing with!

So it's $1000 per person plus all the other stuff or everything adds up to about $1000 per person? Catching a tuna would be awesome! Like others I doubt I have anything big enough to handle one though.

You guys don’t let fear stop you. I was like you guys and had nothing capable of tuna. I mall you gotta do is ask and you will have something to fish with. Look at the pictures of everyone up top plenty of rods. One thing that you may want to get is a few Ahi Assault jigs in glow color in 4 and 8 ounce. I like the ones with the single assist hook but they all work.

Looks like an epic trip for certain. Living large and eating like kings. Do y'all charter a Dolphin dock captain or just launch from there? Last tuna trip we did out of port A was with DD and we only filled half the boat. Battled 10ft seas to get out to the cervesa rig but it was on fire as soon as we dropped the first diamond jig down. Great times and enjoyed the pics.
