Piggy came out right at sunset...before him I missed a doe at around 37 yards. Still disappointed in that shot...but anyways lot of movement this weekend. Had a young 8 point come out but definitely not a shooter. I'm still pretty excited this was my first bow kill & a 180 lb boar is fine w/ me. Got him right at 20 yards w/ Matthews Switchback XT & Rage broadhead. On another note had fun watching my nephews both shoot a doe. It's all about passing everything on to the next generation & had fun seeing them boys drop em'. Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Nice pig. If that's your first bow kill, you'll be hooked for sure now. If I can give some advice, ease up on the 37yard shots at deer and wait for the closer ones. I been bow hunting for 23 years and rarely fling an arrow that far for a deer (unless conditions are perfect). I will shoot pigs and javi out to 50/60 yrds, but I always try to be more conservative when shooting @ deer. Not sure who else agrees with me, but that's just what I do. good luck in future hunts. Nice job with the nephews too.

Thanks fellas! And yea I'm definitely hooked...plan on bowhunting through rifle season some too. I didn't feel very confident on that shot but it was just a last minute judgement call & thought why not at least try. I understand though about making good shots I definitely want to make a good ethical kill & not wound any deer. But thanks for all the help! Hope everyone has a great season!
