    Best tasting duck

This year I was able to duck hunt a few times, at the coast a couple of times and at a couple tanks. Just wondering what is the best tasting duck?

Depends on what they have been eating. Best duck I ever had was Canvasback that had been eating wild celery. Probably why it was the most sought after duck by market hunters of the old days.

Fulvous and Black Bellied tree ducks are great too.

Canvasback out of all of them that I've had.

Woodies, mallard or teal, but like was said above, it all depends on what they have been eating.

Wood duck, teal then mallard/gadwall. Ain't none of them great but those grilled rare, wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cream cheese are acceptable table fare.

All these years I've been told it was the 2x4. When I was living at home we had a chance to take ducks on occasion, it took mom quite a few tries to get the ducks tastier than the board imo do some research on wild duck preparation then you'll have a better chance of getting a finished result you'd want to eat.

Yep, especially if the woody is fat on acorns!!

Picked and singed, then baked, fried or boiled into makin' a gumbo... Hard to beat that...

                              Canvasback
                              Goodies
                              Black belly
                              Teal/caddies
                              Mallards

In that order. Teal and woodies are hard to beat when roasted whole
