You can take a glass jar, like a pickle one, punch or drill holes in the lid and inside put a hot dog weiner, some syrup, a little water. Works good too

oh, and if you have fruit flies inside...take a glass pour a few oz of apple cider vinegar the lay saran wrap over it (with a rubber band holding it taut) cut slits in the saran wrap. The fruit flies go in and cant leave. It's very efficient.

OK, My daughter must be doing something wrong. She did everything like you said, we have no shortage of flies, and not one of them will go into the bottle. Using the same type of bottle as you, small gatorade bottle. How much sugar are you using or what can she be doing wrong.

Make sure the holes not to big or small and also try mixing the sugar with the gatorade. Mined been catching the heck out of the little buggers.

Still going strong on my third one now... hard to tell in the pictures but there are about 1.5" of dead flies in the bottom of the bottle! Already started my next one.

Just put something like this outside, cant even smoke anything cause the dad gum flies are so bad!
