    Port arthur/Beaumont roads

My boss hasn't left work in over 24 hrs. He's asking if I can possibly come relieve him of duties. I see rainbow bridge is closed leaving bridge city, are they allowing traffic onto the other bridge so traffic can continue on 73 towards port arthur? If not is the traffic on I10 to Beaumont really backed up as it's showing on Google maps?

Looking at drivetexas.org, I don't think you can get into Port Arthur.

Fox News is saying, confirmed by the Port Arthur mayor, that Port Arthur in its entirety is under water.

I'd use airboat only to relieve your boss.

          Please be cautious and careful.

            absolutely crazy

I'm guessing this is from Hwy 287 / 96 , I've traveled it a few times when I had clients in PA
Isn't there a correctional facility on the West side of the freeway ?

I believe that is Hwy 73 near Winnie, but not 100% sure.

Just about all roads leading to Beaumont are closed. I think the only way in or out of Beaumont is i-10 towards Louisiana.

Ftom what I've seen, this is correct. Problem with going east, south, then west, is active Harvey itself.

                          From another thread:
                          Sorry to repost:

Yes sir, I have talked to multiple friends on paths along S.H. 87, S.H. 287, S.H. 12, S.H. 105, S.H. 96 and I-10 and all are saying he same things, "you can make it to about a line east to west around Evadale" but that is as far as they can confirm you can go headed south.

I appreciate all the feed back, this site and the people on this site never stop amazing me.
