    Traditional FSC Week 24

Going to simulate an actual event, where some of us at the Texas Recurve Championships almost stepped on a copperhead, then Delano shot it.

For our challenge draw a V-headed snake with eyes 1 inch apart. Put a spot between the eyes -- this is the aimpoint. Two arrows shot from 5 yards; closest one to aimpoint between the eyes wins the call. The species is a deadly cobraheadedrattlemoc!

BEFORE the shots, run in place for 25 seconds to get up the heart rate. Also, hold the second arrow in the bow hand while shooting the first one, and shoot that arrow within five seconds of the first (so he doesn't get away). If you can't shoot the second arrow in time, then you don't get a second shot.

    Good luck!

Here's the inspiration of this week's challenge. The snake was moving, btw. And Delano won the championship.

Do it at the range with one of the scout bows, Gary.

I shot one for a bit last night. Shooting a 26lb bow is not easy. Really have to focus on the smooth release.

                    Looks pretty good, to me!

So, just draw a couple of eyes an inch apart on the skunk's stripe, and shoot it first thing tomorrow.

1/8” on second shot. Plenty of room left to be worked.

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! Great shooting, Briar! You got that sucker. And some real nice art work, too. Maybe, the art quality will be the tie-breaker if that becomes necessary. (The forked tongue makes it.)

Well, I killed it, but not as well as Briar. First arrow was closest at 1/2".

                            Good shooting TT!

I like to keep the artist juices flowing. The tongue seemed like a realistic touch.
