The really close shots at coons is easy to explain. The height difference in scope line of sight and barrel often causes issues with shooting low at very close ranges on small targets. I agree that I'd put up a paper target and see if there was a discrepancy as well as checking all my fasteners to make sure everything is still secured properly. You might also put up targets at other ranges to see exactly where the bullet strikes at in between and past your sighted in ranges ro help you compensate when needed.
