As someone who grew up in Lockhart. Class of '04. I would either go to Smitty's or the local favorite Chisholm Trail.

Smittys all day every day. In 3 trips I have yet to have a good meal at Blacks, and every time I swear I won’t go back again, not to mention they always seem ****** to be having to take my money. Kreuz is mediocre. It doesn’t get better than Smittys for me.

I worked in Lockhart for few years and I tried them all. I still drive over to Smitty's occasionally.

Fuullllll!

Really haven't done it... but I've eaten at them all at different times. Usually I just go along with whichever place the folks I'm with want to go to. I love all three and City Market in Luling. Kreuz and Smitty's used to not offer sides. They do now, but if I go to one of those tradition dictates I don't get any sides except crackers. Old school.
