Someone had posted some melanistic fawns down by Buda last year, are these related possibly?

I was picking up grandsons at their house by Hamilton pool rd. And saw the deer there by their house.

I saw one of those piebalds a yr or two ago. Not in texas, but it was neat to see.

Only black deer I ever saw was a doe and fawn in buda as a kid.

Have seen several on a place I got to hunt near Austin. Have been told there are more melanistic deer in the three counties around Austin than anywhere else in the world. Haven’t done the research but I know of the 5 days I hunted just on the west side of Austin, I bet I saw 6 melanistic deer. 5 doe and one buck.

From what I’ve read, there is an eight county area around Austin that has more melaniatic deer than the rest of the world combined. Google it. Lots of them around Dripping Springs.
