Since the current tax is on a gallon of gasoline, how would lowering the price of gasoline reduce the state or federal tax collected. Seems to me that a lowered gasoline price would encourage greater use and actually raise the total tax received by state and feds.

Cheap diesel at Walmart or Valero in Floresville 3.13/gal diesel, supreme 3.19 reg was 2.99 I believe but I only use diesel and supreme. I think this was a California legislation.

I haven't heard a word about it, and with the amount of fuel we move I believe I would know by now. It was being discussed raising it a few cents in 2016 I believe. To help fund road repair supposedly caused by oilfield traffic.

Correction, just got gas for $2.09 at Costco in Katy. Can't remember the last time it was so close to being under $2.

Umm.... any additional tax would be passed on to consumers, just like all taxes.

It was the same here yesterday. Just went and it dropped another dime overnight. Topped off a half a tank for under $20. Sweet!
