My boyfriend and I went out to my family land in Peaster this weekend. We hunted Saturday morning and Sunday evening. This is my first year bow hunting, and I have only had my bow for a few months now. Sunday evening I got in my blind and sat there for a few hours. It started to get dark and I heard something rustling around in front of me but I could not see it, because it was down in the creek. I had my bow in my lap, ready to go! It took about 30 minutes for the deer to finally walk up the hill RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. He started eating about 25- 30 yards out. (I have only been practicing from 20 yards so far.) I drew my bow back but he never turned to where I could get a good shot, so I held my bow back for what felt like a lifetime. I was shaking. I finally had to release my bow without releasing the arrow and trying to be quiet too. I must have made a little noise because he moved a little and looked up. When he moved and started eating again, I drew my bow back again and DROPPED HIM! I sat there for a few minutes and he never got up! I unzipped my blind and he got up and ran off. I was so excited I didn't think to stay in there any longer, so I sprinted over to my boyfriend's blind excited to tell him what had just happened! Needless to say we found the little one antler buck the next day!! One of the best experiences I have ever had!
