That's southern Hamilton. I hear northern Hamilton can be as early as Monday evening.

The last year I hunted south of Hamilton there was no rut. There were no deer on the MLD managed property.

But in prior years before everyone shot all the deer, the rut was split between mid Oct and Mid Nov.

Hard and heavy first week of November. I watched it for 13 years when I hunted Hamilton & Bosque counties. I witnessed several breedings opening weekend of rifle season in that time. Same goes for our place now in Mills County. Be in the stand Halloween and you'll see some trick or treaters lol

That's good to hear. I saw a old thread suggesting it was late November. This will be the first year hunting this property so the info is very helpful, smart***** comments not so much.

I hope we have a rut in this drought. Seriously. I have seen dry years in south Texas drought where corn was more important than does.
