After being betrayed by someone He loved, False Arrest, Desertion by those He loved, False Trial, Denial by His second in command, beating, mockery. Jesus carried the cross to Calvary to weigh our sins on His shoulders. A criminal was released instead of our Lord and His cross hung between two more.
Our God is just and in His justice He requires repayment for wrong doing. After an eternity watching His children constantly turn on Him. . . . . . He sent His son as a final payment. A payment that allows us the opportunity to stand before God . . . . . pure. We are justified in Him. In the end Jesus looked to heaven and asked His Father why He had forsaken Him. He hadn't been foresaken . . . . . .our sin was bearing down on Him at that moment.
With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.
The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"
Mark 15:37-39
The curtain was put there to block everyone's view of the place where it was said God dwelled. By tearing the veil Jesus gave us all a view to our Father in Heaven.

This Man lyrics
In only a moment truth
Was seen revealed this mystery
The crown that showed no dignity he wore
And the king was placed for all the world
To show disgrace but only beauty flowed from this place
Would you take the place of this man
Would you take the nails from his hands
Would you take the place of this man
Would you take the nails from his hands
He held the weight of impurity
The father would not see
The reasons had finally come to be to
Show the depth of his grace flowed with
Every sin erased he knew that this was
Why he came
Would you take the place of this man
Would you take the nails from his hands
Would you take the place of this man
Would you take the nails from his hands
And we just don't know the blood and
Water flowed and in it all
He showes just how much he cares
And the veil was torn so we could have
This open door and all these things have
Finally been complete
Would you take the place of this man
Would you take the nails from his hands
Would you take the place of this man
Would you take the nails from his hands
From his hands
From his hands
From his hands
From his hands
From his hands
Heavenly Father I thank you so much for the gift of your Son, for His sacrifice. Father I thank you that you have forgiven us with our belief in Him. Father I pray that all of remember that sacrifice today, that today the day that your Son left the earth was the day that your forgave us for all eternity. I thank you for your grace, for your love, for the life abundant that you have allowed me to have. I pray that many new people come to know who you are and who Jesus is this weekend. I pray for all those that say the salvation prayer this weekend that they not only lean who you are but get to know you.
Amen
