SIG 229 Legion

I have a 229 Legion (not impressed) and am wanting to swap out the grips on the pistol. I just do not care for the funky look nor the feel of the ones that come on the pistol. My question is...will a standard P229 grip fit on the Legion pistol? The only issue I can see is the funky beaver tail....why do they put that on there? Has anyone ever suffered from hammer bite on a SIG?

BTW....In my opinion I think the M11 is a much better value for the money!

Set of plates will interchange with it. On my legion the grips were to too aggressive for my liking. I took sand paper to them and made it a lot better. I can’t run wrap around grips because of smaller hands.

I have an enhanced elite 229 that I took the factory grips off and put G10s on. Love them but everyone is a bit different. I would assume the one piece wrap around would fit the Legion just fine, since the enhanced elite also has a beaver tail.

Edit. Mine is the E2 frame DA/SA
