when I was in Germany we had to have a transformer to change the voltage from
220 50 cycle to 120 60 cycle some of the electronic devices had a switch to go from Germany 220 50 cycle to American 120 60 cycle could be different now. that was in 1968

Go to office depot and buy an adaptor for $20, I have one when I travel to Europe and use it a lot.
