Default Traditional FSC 23

First shot of the day for 5 days. Shots taken from 13 yards standing.

Draw a 4” circle and trace a nickel within the circle

3 Points for shots in small circle
1 Point for shots within the 4”
Any shots outside of score rings 0

If anyone scores a three on any given day, the following day the target is moved back 3 yards, if no one scores a three the target stays at previous days yardage. Therefore, if anyone shoots a three every day the 5th day will be at 25 yards

Example: Someone shoot a three today tomorrow the distance will be 16 yards and so on, if you are unable to shoot on a certain day and the distance was increased you have to shoot from the new distance for the day you are shooting.

Highest combined score wins

Hope this makes sense.

Cool. So, staying at 13 until ANYONE HITS a "3", then back three yards each day after ANYONE HITS A 3. And combine up to five days' scores. Assuming a 3-hit must be posted by midnight to be in effect for the next day?

Yes, Sir, and the yardage doesn't change until the following day. Let's say I shot a 3 today at 13 yards, ROFLMAO, everyone can shoot at 13 yards today only, tomorrow would be at 16 yards

Nothing for me on Day 1.

But I shot the heavy recurve without hand damage.

Can't show pic due to reaching monthly Tapatalk limit. Shot was right at 2 oclock.

Day 3 - zero again!

Then step back to 25 yds and shoot this group.

Guess I know where I need to practice!

Tomorrow I’m going to hit the big circle.

That's okay. Takes a minute to double bow weight when you haven't shot it in 6 weeks. After another bad Day 4 shot, shot another dozen or so arrows. Feeling much stronger. Will see tomorrow.

Day 4: high.

Thanks. Got a $30 two-wheeled cart from Harbor Freight and saved boxes from work for a couple weeks... Turned out Ok. Tried to make it big enough so the kids wouldn’t miss it very often (when they move back too far).

The wheels make it easy to move into and out of the garage for (almost) nightly practice sessions. I did impress a buddy of mine on Tuesday (as he knows I just started shooting about a month ago) and I was vital shooting a 3D deer at the range with regular consistency from 20yds. Just goes to show if you practice something enough you should eventually get better!

Now to focus on that 4” circle @ 13 yards tomorrow!

Thanks for letting me play with guys. Groups after warm ups are nice, but we all know in hunting it’s that ‘First Shot’ that counts!

Thanks, Gary. And, yes, always glad to see new trad guys working to make a First Shot on a hunt. Keep it up, PharmerJon!

My Day 5 finished off a scoreless week, but pretty much wore out "high right".

Took another 16 or so shots after FSC shot, and never could hit dead center, but managed 9 in the 4-inch circle. Encouraging.

Excellent shot Briar, you got the lead.

Anyone still in, all shots on Saturday are from 16 yards.

Dang! Nil DQ today. I shot from 13 without checking in. I hadnt been counting right hand. Today I scored nil left first and scored one right first from 13 which apparently shouldve been 16 yards.
