        Man that's cool encounter...

Hey, are they always that tame? I was 44 years old when I saw my first one in the wild. Probably seen 5 or so since. Seen one guy shoot one, don't know why..... I like seeing them in the wild.

I opened the door to my blind several years ago and had one hissing and showing teeth come charging directly at me....I don't know who hit the ground first, but I'm pretty sure I did.
It was only 12' off the ground but I don't remember ever hitting a step.

                        Ringtail. Mostly nocturnal.

I'm not sure about how tame most are. He hissed a few times.

I don't know why someone would shoot one.

I wouldn't mind having one mounted, either solo or as part of a scene. They are beautiful animals.

I've always thought they were cool also....but a word to the wise, never-ever lay hands on the ringtail, I did once. That cute, cuddly, timid looking creature transformed into a psychotic version of the cartoon Tasmanian devil, high on meth, topped off with pcp, with super man capabilities. Scariest 52 seconds of my life (at least on that day).
