Places to eat & Things to do in San Antonio

Headed to San Antonio this weekend for work. Tell me some places to check out I may not know of. I've hit every tourist spot there is on previous trips. Looking to things maybe only locals know.

I doubt you'll end up back at the square or the alamo area if you have hit the tourist spots, but there is a Belgium waffle place right around the corner from the ripley's things. They have all sorts of Belgium ice cream, waffles, chocolate, and chocolate covered stuff. Really good.

Pollos Asados Los Nortenos is great food. They do not serve beer FYI. Big Lous makes a good pizza and the Smoke Shack has great BBQ. What part of town are you staying?

I started there and way too much to sift through.

                      La Fogata for Mexican Food.
The Snake Farm in New Braunfels is pretty cool.
                      Biff Buzby's for a good burger/sandwich.
My buddies and I frequent Top Golf when I'm home.
For a smaller, more low key dance hall The Bluebonnet Palace is a good place.
                      Retama Park for horse races.

All depends on what you're looking to do.

Rosario's enchiladas are the bomb. Short drive from the river walk and well worth it!!!

Was there last weekend for my nephews graduation from basic training at Lackland. Big Lou's is supposed to be very good but we didn't want to wait 2.5 hrs. Lulus is good for breakfast. The hotel Emma is awesome as is that area around it. I believe it's the old Pearl brewery and they have done a great job with that area.

                              Schilo's is a "must-go" when I'm in SA.
