    South Texas Guided Hunt Recommendations

    Howdy TBH!

A gentlemen from Washington state whom I shared camp with last week in Colorado, was asking me for some recommendations on places to come hunt down in South Texas. This is a older gentlemen that hunts all over the place, and he really wants a stereotypical wide framed South Texas bruiser. He was a super nice guy, and I said i'd try to help point him in the right direction.
He doesn't mind it being a fenced place, but no super small fenced places please. Any recommendations? I know of some of the bigger ones, and he had obviously heard of the King Ranch, but i figured this would be a good place to go to get a good recommendation.

Would like a legitimate operation with good accommodations, food, etc, plus a genuine South Texas hunting experience. Price didn't seem to be a big concern.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Look into The YBar Ranch in Fowlerton/Tilden area. It's our neighboring property and frequented by Blake Shelton. They have some absolute giants on there.

I’ve hunted with him before and have another hunt scheduled in December with him.

La Contessa Ranch with Martin Reina, or The Knowlton's Vista Verde with Jed Knowlton. Two of the best in the state. I have been blessed to take very nice deer with both of them. Jed has some MONSTER typicals.

You sure? Look at most places and what they charge per inch over say 130-150. I wouldn’t have a problem taking my son on their Father-son hunt.

They are quite high, but you’re correct on perspective.

Really, any ranch that has been around for any length of time and is over 5k ac should be a solid place.
