One of the great coaches in the old SWC and early beginnings of the Big XII

I always hated playing tech but loved their coach.

What is really telling about the influence Spike had on everyone including coaches, players and friends is how they are all saying what a gentleman and great person he was more than a great coach, which he still was. His down to earth West Texas sayings will definitely be missed. When God made him, he threw the mold away!

I am a died in the wool Aggie and I still loved hearing him talk before and after games and even after he got out of coaching. A true legend.
