Default We lost our little buddy last night

Almost 15 years of companionship and love that will be dearly missed. We had to put our little guy down late last night, he went down hill very quickly starting early Sunday morning while I was out at the ranch. He stayed strong enough to make the trip back home with me and was able to see his momma after we got home yesterday evening. We said our goodbyes and made the decision that his suffering was too great to carry on. I haven't cried like that in quite some time. Say a little prayer for our Squirty man and for his mother as she took him in as a rescue almost 15 years ago and he's been through a lot with her. We will miss you buddy, you were one of a kind and so special to us. Thanks for the memories. Until we meet again... Love you Squirt!

These pictures were taken Sunday morning, he had just enough energy to stand out on the porch and get some sunshine before we packed up and headed home for the last time.

Sorry for your loss. The most difficult part of having dogs is letting them go. We had a chocolate lab who made it to 16.

It's tough. We lost ours right before Thanksgiving. Sometimes our new puppy will do something Miller used to do and I have to look away because I can't stand thinking about him.

I lost what I think to be the oldest dog ever this past December. Had a toy fox terrier who was 19. It was hard, but knowing how much enjoyment we got out of each other made things easier. Keep smiling, he knows he was loved.

Done! We picked up this one about 10 months ago to help ease the pain since we knew Squirt only had so much longer left. She’s certainly been a comfort to her mom the last 24 hours. Squirt’s memory lives on through Piper!

Sometimes dread opening these threads ... can cause a tightening of the chest when remembering the loss of our own beloved companions. However the good memories always outweigh these times.
Glad y’all have Piper to ease y’all through!
